About the LIMS
Johnson County’s Legislative Information Management System (LIMS) is comprehensive, enterprise application that provides a full range of specialized technical support of the local legislative and related decision-making processes. The launch of the LIMS ties directly to strategic goals identified by the Board of County Commissioners to improve the accessibility and transparency of county government processes. As a web-based system, the LIMS provides all users with the ability to search, view, retrieve, and print documents stored in the repository.
About SIRE Technologies
Johnson County’s LIMS is provided through a partnership with SIRE Technologies, Inc. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, SIRE is a multi-national organization which provides electronic content and document management solutions for clients in both the public and private sectors. Johnson County’s LIMS utilizes the SIRE Agenda Plus application, which provides comprehensive, end-to-end legislative management solutions. The system is modular in design, allowing it to be customized to the specific needs of an individual client. For information about SIRE Technologies, please visit their website by clicking here.
Every effort has been made to ensure the LIMS portal is functional across different platforms and operating systems; however, for maximum compatibility with this site, we recommend using the most current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6.0 or later). In order to view the PDF documents found throughout the site, the latest version of Adobe Reader 8.0 is required. Please contact the BOCC clerk's office if you require assistance.
The LIMS serves as the electronic repository for legislative and policy-related documents generated by the Board of County Commissioners as well as certain other governing and advisory bodies within Johnson County Government. Consequently, system users can search, view, retrieve, and print any number of records or documents—even across multiple bodies and multiple years. The system features a full-text search capability, similar to many popular search engines available through the Internet, as well as more advanced search options that help refine and better define the desired search results.
The system was launched in late December 2006 in preparation for the 2008 Session of the Board of County Commissioners; therefore, data from previous years is in the process of being converted and added to the system on a “go-forward” basis, and new information is constantly being added.
