Consider appointing Ron Ryckman, 14234 West 158th Street, Olathe, as the fifth district representative to the Tenth Judicial District Nominating Commission through March 7, 2016.

 

4.

Consider authorizing the expenditure of $9,323.15 from the Stream Maintenance Fund for public improvements, in cooperation with the City of De Soto, for purchase of park equipment in connection with the development of the City’s Riverfront Park; increasing the Stream Maintenance Fund’s budget authority with the use of published reserves; and approving an agreement with the city for the expenditure of these funds.

 

Commissioner Hayden moved to Approve the consent agenda, as presented. Commissioner Osterhaus seconded the motion

Resolution No. 013-12 and Application No. NW-CU-3036. Consider a request from Kevin Allenbrand, applicant/landowner, for conditional use permit renewal for an oversized accessory building on 2.9 acres located at 13430 Spoon Creek Road, zoned Rural District.

 

Commissioner Hayden moved to Approve and Adopt Resolution No. 013-12, thereby approving a conditional use permit renewal for an oversized accessory building, for the reasons and subject to the stipulations set forth in the resolution. Commissioner Lindstrom seconded the motion.

Resolution No. WD 12-010. Conduct a public hearing and consider authorizing funds for the construction of Wastewater Pavement Restoration Project (Contract 24) for the Douglas L. Smith Middle Basin Wastewater Treatment Plant in an amount not to exceed $1,865,800, increasing the total project authorization to $2,181,800.

 

Commissioner Allen moved to Approve and Adopt Resolution No. WD 12-010, thereby authorizing $1,865,800 for construction of the Johnson County Wastewater Pavement Restoration Project (Contract 24) for the Douglas L. Smith Middle Basin Wastewater Treatment Plant, increasing the total project authorization to $2,181,800. Commissioner Peterson seconded the motion.

IFB No. 2012-019. Consider authorizing a contract with Amino Brothers Company, Inc. to construct the Pavement Restoration Project (Contract 24) at the Douglas L. Smith Middle Basin Wastewater Treatment Plant in an amount not to exceed $1,465,613.85.

 

Commissioner Lindstrom moved to Authorize a contract with Amino Brothers Company, Inc. to construct the Pavement Restoration Project (Contract 24) for the Douglas L. Smith Middle Basin Wastewater Treatment Plant, in an amount not to exceed $1,465,613.85 per Invitation to Bid No. 2012-019. Commissioner Osterhaus seconded the motion.

Consider authorizing the purchase of up to ten low floor, wheelchair accessible transit buses, related support equipment and spare parts from the Gillig Corporation for the operation of The JO in an amount not to exceed $3,712,000 for FY 2012, with $2,756,000 to be funded from federal grants and $956,000 to be funded from the Transit operating budget and programmed use of fund balance.

 

Commissioner Peterson moved to Authorize the purchase of up to ten low floor, wheelchair accessible transit buses, related support equipment and spare parts from the Gillig Corporation for Transit for the operation of The JO in an amount not to exceed $3,712,000 for FY 2012. Commissioner Allen seconded the motion.

Commissioner Peterson moved to Approve and Adopt Resolution No. 017012, thereby encouraging the governor of the state of Kansas to carefully consider any change in the Medicaid or health care provision for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; to remove long-term care services for said persons from the proposed privatized managed care plan; and to continue present state/county-appointed community developmental disabilities organization administration of this service delivery system. Commissioner Allen seconded the motion.
